RIC which works within QAU to support and develop innovation activity within and outside the Institute.

QAU is committed to providing a research & development environment to support industry not only in Pakistan but throughout the world as well. We collaborates with both large and small industries driving the development of the knowledge economy for the Pakistan and beyond.

AU has a number of Research projects the areas of Electronics, Nano Technology, Physics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Agriculture, Plant & Animal Sciences ,Food Technology, Virology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Chemistry (Organic, In Organic & Physical), Economics, Medicine/Pharmacy and Eco-Innovation.  The departments have the resources and capability required to turn research in the science, engineering and technology arena into commercial benefits for the Regional economy in particular, and as a consequence, Pakistan’s national economy will also benefit.  QAU is now working on licensing its technologies and supporting the creation of spin-out companies.

ORIC forms part of the University’s core infrastructure supporting Research , Innovation & Commercialization . Emanating from the increase in research investment and commercialization activity, QAU is securing funding from HEC, PSF, COMSTECH & US AID for the development of this Technology Transfer Office. This component will strengthen the technology transfer resources and expertise available to QAU researchers and industry collaborators.

ORIC is doing its best to bring the academia close to industry so that the research work conducted in university may be commercialized.
